Our History.

GROWING A LEGACY.

2019

Vision New Zealand launches

Vision New Zealand was founded in 2019 with a clear purpose: to give New Zealanders a genuine alternative built on common sense, integrity, strong families, and courageous leadership. We entered politics because we believed too many New Zealanders no longer felt heard by the established political parties. From the beginning, our mission has been to put people before politics and to champion policies that strengthen families, protect children, support local communities, and preserve New Zealand's sovereignty and identity.

2019-2020

Building a Movement

Our first challenge was simply to build a political party from the ground up. Volunteers from across New Zealand gave their time, resources, and passion to establish Vision NZ as a registered political party. In the 2020 General Election we presented New Zealanders with a platform centred on strong families, economic opportunity, safer communities, respect for life, and empowering Māori through practical solutions that create prosperity and self-determination. Although we did not win parliamentary representation, we successfully established Vision NZ as a growing movement committed to long-term change rather than short-term political gain.

2021-2022

Standing for Freedom

During one of the most challenging periods in New Zealand's recent history, Vision NZ stood firmly for civil liberties, personal responsibility, and government accountability. We supported the rights of New Zealanders to ask questions, express differing opinions, and participate in public debate without fear or discrimination. We believed democracy is strengthened when citizens are free to speak, challenge, and hold governments accountable. These principles led Vision NZ to become a founding component of Freedoms New Zealand, working alongside others who shared a commitment to protecting fundamental freedoms.

2023-2026

Taking the Message Nationwide

The 2023 election campaign expanded our reach across the country. Vision NZ contested all seven Māori electorates and promoted policies focused on restoring common sense, strengthening families, improving education, tackling crime, protecting freedom of speech, and supporting New Zealand businesses. While parliamentary representation remained out of reach, thousands of New Zealanders supported our vision and helped grow a movement committed to long-term political change.

2026

Looking Forward

Vision NZ believes politics should once again be built on integrity, service, and accountability. Our work continues through policy development, community engagement, advocacy, and preparing the next generation of leaders. We remain committed to protecting children, strengthening families, restoring confidence in public institutions, supporting productive enterprise, and ensuring every New Zealander has the opportunity to thrive. We know meaningful change rarely happens overnight. Every campaign has strengthened our organisation, broadened our support, and reinforced our belief that New Zealand deserves principled leadership with the courage to stand by its convictions.
