CANDIDATE FOR HUTT SOUTH ELECTORATE

Great nations are built on the strength of healthy families. I’m standing to be a voice for all Kiwis.

Coming from a broken home I have witnessed more than my fair share of crime, violence and abandonment. I was passed around family as a child, then eventually surviving alone as a 15year-old and having to make my own way in the world. I have seen this all too common scenario become increasingly normalised in New Zealand particularly amongst my own people as well as more widely across the community.

Through perseverance and resilience, I have fought to rise up from this position of deficit eventually going on to represent my country in sport, marry the woman of my dreams, become a father, buy homes, own a business, attain a profession and mentor and coach many others to improve their lives.

I have always had a natural instinct to put myself forward, to lead, and to speak up and identify solutions to whatever situation I was confronted with, often when others wouldn’t. While I have assisted and influenced many people over the years, I have observed a general lack of belief that they can make a difference in key areas or decisions that impact on their lives and a disregard for the vital role they play in shaping our political landscape.

I’m a firm believer that we must look after our own back yard first and bring all Kiwis to a position of living well and protecting and maximising our own people and natural resources. I am proof that ordinary Kiwis can succeed and prosper across all domains of life in spite of their troubled beginnings. I relate well to all people regardless of their background. I have walked the pathway of adversity to success and know that the greatest solutions for our nation lie with the People. As a candidate for Vision NZ, I am committed to utilising my skills and experience to give them their voice and represent their aspirations at the highest level.
