I’m standing for our flag, faith, family, freedoms and future.

Hi, I am Destry Murphy of Ngaati Maniapoto, Ngaati Manawa, Te Whaanau a Apanui, Whakatoohea, and Tuwharetoa descent.

I am married to the beautiful Tania, and together we have four adult children, whom we are very proud of, and four wonderful grandchildren. They are the light of our lives.

I was born and raised in Enderley. I graduated from Te Whare Wananga o Waikato in 2004 with Bachelor of Science and I am a member of Golden Key University of Waikato.

I am currently an Iwi Liaison for New Zealand Police in Waikato. I find this very rewarding work and an effective of making a difference in the community especially with rangatahi.

Hamilton is a great place to live and grow a family. It is a taonga to be treasured, right in the heart of the Kiingitanga territory.

It is steeped in rich history and its fertile lands are home to Ngaati Wairere, Ngaati Haua, and Ngaati Mahanga and Ngaati Maniapoto.

The Waikato river uniquely defines us and identifies us in the whakatauki, “He piko he Taniwha, Waikato Taniwharau (on every bend there is a great chief).”

What I also love about Hamilton is that it boasts a diversity of many faiths, cultures, languages, and peoples.

I am loyal to the city of Hamilton, and look forward to serving the community as an elected MP.
