CAFF (Children & Family Forum)

CAFF is a network of national and regional personnel from a variety of Christian organisations and denominations who work with children and families.  We meet three times a year in Auckland to pray, encourage each other, discuss issues and receive high level training and teaching from other leaders and communicators. In all we do we are aiming to improve the effectiveness of the ministries we deliver and further enable children and families to discover the love of Christ for them.

Over the past year we have had valuable input from Lesley Max Director of the Great Potentials Foundation, Mark Strom from the Bible College of NZ and Colin Prentice former CEO of World Vision training. We have spent time exploring issues such as holistic community ministry, children in worship and Christian leadership and identified ways we can improve these areas of work and service.  Network members have found a number of ways to add value to each other work by exchanging information and resources, working together on projects, and partnering in service to churches and communities. We are also assisting with research into areas such as "Family Spiritual Nurture" and looking at other areas of research that will help provide insight and direction for work in this sphere.

We will continue to meet during 2008 to build relationships, explore critical issues, be up-skilled in our work and plan co-operative endeavour. Other national and/or regional personnel assigned to work in the area of children and family ministries by their organisations and denominations are very welcome to join the network.
