Two significant international speakers have been confirmed for the 6th New Zealand Christian Leaders' Congress, to be held at Waikanae in February 2011.
Dr Geoff Tunnicliffe, International Director of the World Evangelical Alliance, and Jeff Fountain, founder of the Shuman Centre for European Studies, will give insights into the global situation.
Geoff Tunnicliffe, International DirectorWorld Evangelical Alliance The World Evangelical Alliance has been directed since 2005 by Geoff Tunnicliffe, a Canadian who also serves as the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada's director of global initiatives. Based in Vancouver, Geoff spends a considerable amount of time travelling, mentoring leaders of Evangelical Alliances, speaking at global conferences, conducting media interviews, meeting with government and faith leaders and interacting with institutions such as the United Nations, G-8 and the World Bank. Building evangelical identity, encouraging collaboration and unity, and building a strong voice for the marginalised, the poor and the persecuted are his priorities. |
Jeff Fountain, founderShuman Centre for European Studies Jeff Fountain set up the Schuman Centre for European Studies after serving as director for YWAM Europe for 20 years. Jeff studied history at Auckland University but has lived in Holland since 1975 where he married his Dutch wife, Romkje. They oversee a multi-ministry YWAM centre in Heerde, the Netherlands, and have three adult sons, two daughters-in-law, one granddaughter and a foster daughter. Jeff has written several books including Living as People of Hope and Deeply Rooted. Jeff also chairs the Hope for Europe Round Table and edits the movement's magazine, HOPE Magazine. The Schuman Centre, affiliated with the University of the Nations, aims to promote biblical perspectives on Europe's past, present and future through courses and events, study units and think tanks, and projects and resources. |
