Micah Challenge New Zealand - Resource available

MicahThe Micah Challenge is a worldwide Church-based initiative to encourage governments to meet the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). New Zealand was among 187 signatory countries that committed, in 2000, to reach these goals by 2015. If met the MDGs will reduce poverty in the poorest countries by 50 percent, they include eradication of extreme poverty, universal primary education, and reducing child mortality.

In New Zealand the Micah Challenge committee has support from a wide range of groups including World Vision, TEAR Fund, Vision Network, Baptist Tranzend, Leprosy Mission, Maxim Institute, Caritas, the Salvation Army, and the Anglican Social Justice, BCNZ.

Micah Challenge has produced a CD with heaps of great resources for churches, including power points, video clips, Bible studies and youth group activities, it is available for a suggested donation of $5. If you would be interested in receiving a copy of the CD, or would like to nominate someone in church to receive a copy, please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
